About our mounts

What is a LEGO wall mount bracket and how does it work?

A LEGO wall mount bracket is a 3D-printed support that fixes to your wall and holds a fully built LEGO model on display. Each 3Dudes & Dad bracket is designed for one specific LEGO set, so the model simply rests or hangs on the mount — no glue, no modification, and no shelf required.

Will your wall mount bracket fit my LEGO model?

Each of our brackets is custom-designed for one specific LEGO set. We measure the model and consider its weight distribution before creating a precision-fitted bracket that supports it exactly where it needs it. Every listing states the set number the bracket fits, so you can be confident of a perfect fit.

What makes 3Dudes & Dad wall mounts better than other solutions?

Three things. First, every mount is designed for one specific LEGO set — it's not a generic hook, and not a DIY workaround like screws through the frame, double-sided tape, fishing line or glue. It supports your model at its strongest points and holds it securely. Second, we design and 3D-print everything ourselves here in the UK, as a family business of genuine LEGO fans — the same mounts we sell are on our own walls. If you ever have a question, you'll be talking directly to the people who made the bracket. And third, everything you need is in the box: fixings, instructions, and a mount that fits first time.

Is the LEGO set included with the bracket?

No — you are purchasing the wall mount bracket only. The LEGO set shown in our product photos is for illustration, so you can see exactly how your model will look on display. You will need your own set.

What material is the bracket 3D-printed from?

All 3Dudes & Dad brackets are 3D-printed in the UK using high-quality PLA filament. PLA is a rigid, durable material that holds its shape under the weight of your model and will not warp or flex over time under normal indoor conditions.

Which LEGO sets do you make wall mounts for?

We produce set-specific mounts across LEGO F1, Technic, Star Wars, Speed Champions, Icons and DC themes — from small Speed Champions cars to large Technic supercars and Star Wars ships. Every listing states the exact set number it fits. Browse our collections or contact us if you cannot find your set.

Can you make a custom mount for a set you don't currently list?

Quite possibly — as a 3D printing business we design and produce everything ourselves, so we regularly add mounts for new and requested sets. Contact us with the set name and number and we will let you know if it is in our production pipeline.

Is the bracket designed to be discreet and minimally visible?

We prioritise a sleek, minimalist design that enhances rather than detracts from your LEGO model. Our custom brackets are carefully crafted to be as unobtrusive as possible, often matching the colour of the model itself. The goal is to make the mount essentially invisible, allowing your LEGO set to be the star of the display.

Does the bracket allow for adjustable positioning or tilting of the LEGO model, or is it a fixed-position mount?

Our brackets are fixed-position only, as shown in the listing images.

Who are 3Dudes & Dad, and where are your brackets made?

We are 3Dudes & Dad — a UK family business made up of Matt (Dad) and his three sons, all genuine LEGO fans. We design and 3D-print every bracket ourselves here in the UK, and the same mounts we sell are on our own walls. When you order from us, you are buying direct from the people who designed and made your bracket.

Installation

How do I install the mount and hang my LEGO on the wall?

The bracket fixes to your wall using Rawlplug UNO 6mm fixings, supplied with every bracket — no need to buy anything separately. These are rated for plasterboard, brick and concrete, so they work whichever wall type you have. Once the bracket is up, your model simply hangs or sits on it. Full fitting instructions are included, and you should expect to have your mount installed in a matter of minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver and a power drill with a 6mm bit. Our full instructions are also available here.

What tools do I need to fit the bracket?

Just a pencil, a ruler or tape measure, a drill with a 6mm bit, a Phillips head screwdriver and, optionally, a spirit level. Everything else — screws, wall plugs and fitting instructions — is included in the box.

Will mounting damage my wall?

Each mount needs only one or two small screw holes, which can be filled and painted over in minutes if you ever remove it. Because our brackets use a standard fixing size, you can also swap mounts for different LEGO sets without drilling new holes.

Can I hang my LEGO on the wall without nails or drilling?

We only recommend fitting our mounts with the supplied screws and Rawlplug fixings, which is what every bracket is designed and tested for. For renters and anyone who prefers not to drill, we can make a custom version of most mounts with a larger mounting pad suited to Command Strips — just message us with the set you would like to display. Please note that any method of attaching the mount other than the supplied fixings, including Command Strips or other adhesives, is used entirely at your own discretion and risk.

Safety and security

Will my LEGO model fall off the wall?

No — provided the bracket is fitted to a sound wall with the supplied fixings as instructed. Each bracket is engineered for the specific set it holds, supporting it at its strongest structural points so the model sits securely and stably for as long as you choose to display it.

How much weight can the brackets hold?

Each bracket is engineered for at least double the weight of the specific LEGO set it is designed for, from lightweight Speed Champions cars to large Technic and Star Wars models. Because every mount is set-specific rather than generic, the weight capacity is always matched to the model — installed correctly, it will hold securely.

Will the bracket damage or mark my LEGO model?

No — our brackets support the model without applying pressure to any individual bricks or structural elements. No glue, modification or permanent fixing to the set is required, so your model remains in perfect, displayable condition.

Do I need to glue my LEGO set before wall mounting it?

No — never glue your LEGO set. Our brackets are designed to support the fully assembled model as built, with the load spread so that no pieces are pulled or stressed. Gluing is irreversible and reduces a set's collector value.

Living with your display

Can I take my model off the mount and still use it?

Yes — your model lifts on and off the bracket freely, so you can handle it whenever you like. The bracket stays fixed to the wall; only the LEGO comes down.

Can I swap different LEGO sets between mounts?

No — each mount is designed and precision-printed for one specific LEGO set, so a single bracket won't fit a different model. However, because all our brackets use a standard fixing size, you can unscrew one mount and put up another for a different set using the same holes, so your display wall can evolve as your collection grows.

How do I keep a wall-mounted LEGO set clean?

Lift the model off the mount and dust it gently with a soft brush or microfibre cloth. Wall mounting actually helps here: models on walls collect far less dust than models sitting on shelves or desks.

Where is the best place to position my LEGO wall display?

Anywhere away from direct sunlight — UV light fades LEGO colours over time, so avoid walls opposite sunny windows. Also allow clearance in hallways and walkways so nobody brushes against your model. Beyond that, any indoor wall is suitable.
